this position (services manager) will report directly to the director of services, ds&s – greater china/sea. the individual will manage a broad array of activities including on-site gas and chemical management services (i.e. megasys brand) and field service and maintenance (fse), etc. this person will work closely with the other ds&s megasys managers, services managers and resources to ensure versum materials (vsm) business and customer requirements are met. this person will be responsible for operational e_cellence including but not limited to the safe and consistent e_ecution of all applicable corporate and operations work processes and procedures across multiple customer sites.
nature and scope:megasys operations activities involve the following products: bulk gas (n2, o2, ar, h2, he), ofa, purifiers, distribution systems, specialty gas, gas cabinets/manifolds, gcs/gms, mobile analytical, wet chemical pumpers, wet chemical (including slurry) distribution systems, life safety system monitors, 3rdparty contractor management, etc. the megasys teams are located on customer sites and have daily responsibility for the operations of the above gas, chemical, precursor, slurry, and analytical systems. field services offer vsm equipment start-up & commissioning, equipment facilitation projects, equipment operation training, operations services and sustainability/warranty services. the megasys manager will utilize his/her understanding of operational and applications principles pertaining to bulk and specialty gases, process and advanced materials, slurry, and delivery system to ensure reliable services. in addition, the megasys manager will be e_pected to drive the application of continuous improvement techniques and processes to improve efficiency within and across the megasys sites and fse teams.
the megasys manager must have strong communication, managerial and interpersonal skills as he/she will be required to frequently interface with multiple levels within vsm and customers management. the megasys manager will be called upon to lead the commercial efforts and provide technical support and operational detail for megasys and field service sales. in addition, the megasys manager will have direct profit responsibility as well as accountability for sales and business strategy for the respective megasys sites and field service teams.
principal accountabilities:
1. responsible for the safety / safe operations of all megasys & field service people and sites within his or her territory (both at vsm and customer facilities).
2. responsible for the quality and service performance of all megasys & field service people and sites within his or her territory (both at vsm and customer facilities).
3. responsible for the profitability and customer satisfaction for all megasys & field service activity assigned within his or her territory. manages all megasys and field service business including pricing, customer service, controlling costs and improving direct profit. assist in sales for new contracts and proposals.
4. ensures all site and divisional objectives (safety, quality, profitability, etc.) are communicated and successfully achieved at operating sites and teams.
5. manages the activities of the megasys site managers who are responsible for day-to-day gas and/or chemical operation in semiconductor fabs. conducts performance reviews, participates in hiring activities, and coordinates resource allocation, movement and development across sites.
6. collaborates with other ds&s personnel to achieve operational e_cellence. this group includes but is not limited to the megasys leadership team, central operations, regional startup team, field service engineers, business decision support, administrative, equipment manufacturing, equipment engineering, inventory, logistics, and quality personnel.
7. ensures that all megasys and services personnel are properly trained and meet established standards.
8. ensures that all megasys and services teams adhere to established ds&s and corporate standards.
9. provides scope, strategy planning, e_ecution of projects, and resource sharing to support asia regional or global start-ups.
10. participates in safety and quality design standard processes (hazard reviews, safety assessments, benchmarking audits, iso audits, etc.)
11. manages the operating e_pense budgets for all area operating cost centers and ensures cost control and improvement.
12. drives the use of continuous improvement tools and concepts in all responsible operating environments.
minimum requirements and qualifications
bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
strong leadership skills
8 years of e_perience in tgcm (total gas & chemical management)
project management e_perience
demonstrated ability to lead equipment startup and commissioning for projects
e_perience managing and leading large teams with employees number more than 100
strong oral and written communication skills in chinese and english
financial acumen to include profitability and budgets / cost control
working knowledge of vsm ds&s and materials offerings is a plus
other information:
domestic and international travel is required.
